Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah.
Last Friday was the Dean’s Award Ceremony. I felt so happy because even though getting a dean’s award might seem like a usual thing to some people, the faculty still made an effort to celebrate the students' achievements and give us motivation to keep improving and maintaining our performance. Ecewah why do I sound so formal? Oh right, because I imagined I was speaking on TV… haha!
At first, I felt a little down.
You know how it is sitting in a hall full of brilliant people makes you feel so small.
Even though my CGPA dropped a little, I’m still so grateful that Allah gave me the rezeki to receive the dean’s award again. Grateful for whatever I get because we all know it wasn’t easy to achieve. Each of us knows how hard we worked. :’)
Thinking back to the previous semester’s awards, I still feel excited I never expected to be named Best Student for my batch. Honestly, my pointer wasn’t even that outstanding compared to other winners from different batches but still I was extremely grateful. I think it’s really good that the faculty creates awards like that, it pushes students to compete in a good way. And healthy competition isn’t a bad thing.
This semester, someone else got the award . Ila received it because she got a 4.0 flat. I’m happy for her, although of course a little sad that I didn’t get it again… haha.
But, Allah is so generous . I was honestly not expecting anything this time. When the results came out, we only knew the grades not the marks. So when I ended up receiving two additional awards, I was so shocked and touched and shy, haha. When I went on stage, I was flustered and panicked from the surprise. Thank you Madam Naimah Zaini and Sir OZ for teaching me Costing and AIS, I was deeply moved..
